This introductory course, open to all students who wish to learn a modern language, is intended to develop limited facility in each of the major communication skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Major emphasis is on development of the ability to speak fluently with accurate pronunciation and intonation, while focusing on appreciation of the culture.
